Andrew Peers
Half Irish by blood and raised in the wild green heart of Robin Hood country in England, his journey has been anything but ordinary. In his late teens and early twenties he lived as an anti-social punk rocker, walking the edges of society before an unexpected calling drew him into a very different world. He went on to spend 21 years within Trappist monasteries.
As a silent monk, immersed in long hours of contemplation, he was given the rare gift of time and space to face his own shadow. Guided by a wise and experienced mentor, this inner work became a profound path of transformation. During the final decade of monastic life, his search deepened further. While still a Christian monk, he trained in Buddhist meditation, even spending time in Japanese monasteries.
Yet eventually another step awaited him. When he left the Trappist Order, he also released the formal structures of both traditions. What remained was the essence of the journey itself.
Today his work flows from a path that has moved through Christian and Buddhist insight and returned him, full circle, to the living wisdom of his Celtic roots.
